2011 Sacramento Spring Open Review

The United Grappling Federation (UGF) hosted the Sacramento Spring Open this past Saturday May 28th offering divisions for both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Submission Grappling.

The event was a success with 49 teams fighting for top honors and over 100 competitors showing up to test their skills. Team Yemaso BJJ finished strong taking home trophies for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Team Champions, Submission Grappling Team Champions, and Overall Team Champions. Team Alexandre Garcia Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was close behind, placing second Overall and third in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Team AKA/Guerilla Jiu Jitsu right on their tail, placing third Overall and second in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Following them was Team Gracie Fighter-Antioch placing second in Submission Grappling and Bushido Fight Team rounding out third for Submission Grappling. Congratulations to all five teams for finishing within the top of their respected divisions and to all participating teams who gave them a battle.

The Sacramento Spring Open ran smoothly and on time all day. The UGF plans to run all future events in the same manner; making minor tweaks to allow for an even more enjoyable and successful tournament for competitors and spectators alike.
